Set up the comparison before opening tabs
First decide which question you are answering. If you are comparing product directories, choose one item type and inspect how clearly each guide leads to matching products. If you are comparing fees, shipping or account support, leave the spreadsheet and use the official service pages.
Do not let “best,” “updated” or a year in the title decide for you. Open several rows, confirm that the links work and look for the details that matter to that category. A short test with the same item and checks on every guide is more revealing than counting rows or brand names.

Five checks that make the comparison fair
- Same category: compare shoes with shoes or bags with bags rather than judging unrelated landing pages.
- Destination match: sample several rows and confirm that the item, category and selected option match the guide label.
- Photo and detail match: check whether QC photos, measurements and source details belong to the same item and option.
- Date check: test rows from different positions instead of trusting an “updated” label.
- Service check: use the official named agent for account, fee, forwarding, payment, refund and shipping decisions.
This gives you something concrete to compare. It still cannot tell you which shopping service will be best, safest or cheapest for every order.
